Sunset Grill in Duck, NC
I escaped for a week with my family to refresh my mind and recharge my creativity in the Outer Banks, NC last week. Duck is a beautiful spot in the Outer Banks to catch an awe-inspiring sunset and where better to see the sunset than the Sunset Grill. We arrived around 6pm and experienced a beach-casual atmosphere with Maroon Five and similar pop music playing on the deck. I ordered the pesto salmon and lump crab meat entree. The salmon was cooked perfectly with a light, crispy outside layer and a warm soft inside. The only complaint I had was with the crab topping served. As a crab lover (I prefer crab to lobster!) I was disappointed in the few pieces of crab served along with the lukewarm temperature of the crab. Our drinks were served in plastic cups which suited me fine and added to the casual theme of the restaurant. I sampled the Starborough sauvignon blanc which was dry with just a hint of sweetness. Overall for a casual spot and a can’t beat sunset view this is a top spot in the Outer Banks.
