Harvest Grill

Last night my husband and I found ourselves at Harvest in Newtown, the “seasonal grill” that changes it’s menu every three months according to the change of the seasons and what is being locally produced from five different farms in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This restaurant, which offers el fresco dining with an air of Southern California when the large, folding clear glass doors open an outside wall to the bar, provides its guests with a fresh new local vibe. Harvest boasts it’s ability to cater to food allergies at first encounter with your sever and supplies a menu to prove it. Four out of five sandwich dishes can be prepared gluten free as well as seven out of ten entree options. Their menu also offers a plant-based and vegetarian section. Meat eaters don’t shy away, there is an appealing sirloin steak option and grass-fed filet mignon dish available as well. I opted for the cedar roasted salmon with a tasty chive-pesto sauce that hit my seafood spot. I have to admit my favorite item on the menu was the flourless chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and just a splash of caramel syrup, gluten free of course. My only complaint was that our server seemed to have too many tables and the service was a tad slow. Overall if you haven’t been to Harvest it’s worth a visit especially for those looking for a safe spot to dine out without worry about food restrictions. There is certainly something on the menu for everyone here and Harvest is embracing an earth friendly model of doing business by providing farm to table food and ensuring their food is served at it’s peak flavor. One last note, the bar countertop is fabricated out of a quartz composite with recycled materials, very cool. https://harvestseasonalgrill.com/
